Step 2: Reach out to find love
Finding love or sex requires taking action and putting yourself out there. You can’t expect love or sex to knock on your door if you never open it. The best way you can meet people for love is by going out and making friends because friendship is the first step to finding love, which should be based on care and trust.
For love, you need to be committed and have ample time in hand when you make friends. When you want to find love, you do need to spend time with people who matter to you.
To expand your social circle, you can try these tips:
- Join a club, group, or class that interests you.
- Volunteer for a cause that you care about.
- Attend events or activities that match your hobbies or passions.
- Ask your friends or family to introduce you to someone they know.
- Use online dating sites or apps with caution and honesty.
Finding sex partners
If it’s just sex you want, your chances are best online – because there’s less risk of offending someone with your line of questioning. Plus you can be really specific about your needs.
It still pays to be cautious but you should be able to weed out the dodgy people the longer you chat. Ask lots of questions and be sure this is what you want, and who you want, before you commit.
As with finding love, it’s best to be honest and share some pics – even if it’s not your face initially. People want to know who they are meeting. Having said that a blind sex date is not unusual, especially if you are just so horny you’d do the deed with almost anyone!
And if you do agree to meet someone – follow through. Show up at the agreed time or message to say you’ve had second thoughts well in advance. No one likes time wasters. And if you don’t want to share where you’re going with family and friends – at least leave a note with the address and phone number of your meetup somewhere in your place where someone can find it. When you get back – destroy the evidence.
